Interested in finding out all about the upcoming event programming for the second half of 2012? Would you like to learn how you can be a volunteer at an event? Then come to the AIGA LA Event Programming Committee Meeting held on Monday, July 2nd in Hollywood.

We will be reviewing all the awesome events planned for the next half of the year and all the great opportunities that surround them. Now is the time to get the teams together and make the events happen. So stop on by, and learn about all the great new ways to get involved in AIGA LA Event Programming!

TYPOGRAPHY TALKS: AN EVENING WITH JEAN FRANÇOIS PORCHEZ OF TYPOFONDERIE

We are proud to invite you to special evening with renowned Parisian type designer, Jean François Porchez, sponsored by AIGA LA, Behance and Oishii Creative.

Join us for cocktails and an international tray of appetizers as Porchez shares his experiences as graphic designer turned type designer turned type director. Porchez is an honorary President of the Association Typographique Internationale, and has received numerous awards including the Prix Charles Peignot (1998), awards from the Bukva:raz international competition (2001) and the Creative Review Type Awards (2006) as well as a Certificate of Excellence in Type Design at the TDC2 2010, a Designpreis 2011 Nominee Design Award of the Federal Republic of Germany 2011 and the design prize during the 41e Palmarés of the Club des directeurs artistiques. Porchez is probably best known for releasing the new typefaces for the French evening newspaper, Le Monde (1994) but has designed custom typefaces for customers such as Beyoncé Knowles, Costa Crocieres, France Télécom, Peugeot, RATP (Public Transport in Paris), and distributes his retail typefaces internationally via www.typofonderie.com.
